Haley and Joshua share a love of Memphis. Many of our family and friends will be traveling to Memphis from other areas, and we want to share our love of this city with the ones we love!
We have compiled a list of some of our favorite Memphis sights, local eats, and special history. Maybe we can encourage you to spend a weekend and experience some of the Bluff City! We follow several blogs to keep up to date with Memphis news, events, food lists, and information on our city. Check out some of our favorite Memphis sites: I Love Memphis Choose901 |
Memphis ZooIn 2009, the Memphis Zoo was nationally recognized as the Best Zoo in the country. The newest exhibit, Zambezi River, opened in May 2016, and is the home of three hippos! Joshua loves the wolves, Haley's favorite are the otters. Haley and Joshua would definitely suggest visiting the zoo while in Memphis!

Local EatsJoshua and Haley love local restaurants! If you want to have some awesome Memphis barbecue, try Rendezous downtown, The BBQ Shop on Madison, or Top's, for a quick stop. Joshua and Haley have a favorites list, including Muddy's bakery, Newk's, Abner's chicken, and Memphis Pizza Cafe.
If you're staying near Agricenter International, we recommend: Abner's chicken, Philly Connection, Huey's burgers, and Memphis Pizza Cafe. Here is a link to some great local Memphis food guides. |
Cooper YoungThis is one of Joshua and Haley's favorite areas for local restaurants and nightlife. Some of their favorites are Sweet Noshing candy shop, watching live music at Lafayette's, burgers and milkshakes at Belly Acres, and the fresh guacamole at Babalu.
Check out Broad Avenue for some great Memphis shops. Art galleries, vintage thrift stores, Broadway Pizza, and some cool murals (great for selfies). |
Shelby Farms
We love spending time at Shelby Farms. Shelby farms is one of the largest urban parks in the United States, and we spend lots of time at the park biking, hiking, hammocking, and visiting the events hosted there. We have been to the Down to Earth Festival, ridden a 1000 foot long water slide and battled each other in those inflatable hamster balls for humans! Last year, we did the Go Ape Zip Line course, and want to go again! We always enjoy the awesome playground, hiking around the lake, and looking for Pokemon. We have spent a lot of time at Shelby Farms, and is a definite addition to our Memphis Favorites.
